Term One - Week Five

 Kia Ora families. Another lovely level 2 day for us. No tears, happy faces and children that just got on with their day. Thanks a bunch, you guys are doing great! The sounds we are focussing on this week are 'P' and 'T'' . We are focussing on not adding a 'ugh' at the end, e.g. 'm' is 'mmmmmm' not 'muh' and 'T' rather than 'Tuh'. Check out our cool P formations and pictures of pigs! This week we will be talking about places that are special to us. Have a conversation with your kids. It could be a holiday destination, a favourite place/room in their house, a space they like to play at school, or at home, e.g. tree house. We will be making connections and finding common themes amongst our ideas. Our library day is Monday. Please ensure books are returned to school each Monday so we can issue new ones for the children. They are allowed to issue one book at a time. They have special white/calico library bags that they wil...

Term One - Week Four

 Kia Ora whanau. A big thank you to all of those who were able to make it to our Ngā Puna family dinner/ 'pool party' as the children called it! It was lovely to chat with you all. We had a great time and appreciated you all coming along.  Welcome this week to our newest students to Waimairi School, Luciana and Angus. It is lovely to have you with us as you start your school journey in Ngā Puna.  The weather is looking fabulous this week! Please continue to bring togs daily so we can make the most of it (free swim slots permitting!) It's wonderfull to see how much our water confidence has grown over these last few weeks. We are practising entering and exiting the pool safely. We enter the pool by sitting on the side, placing our hands beside our bodies, turn, then slip into the water.  Thanks for naming your child's items of clothing. It makes for an easier time finding things if they go 'walk about!' We are currently looking for a named fleece with Nico on it. ...
