Ngā Puna 2021

  Kia ora koutou,   It was great news to hear we are moving to Alert level 1 so quickly.  It will be awesome to see you all in the morning back to our normal routines. Thanks again for your support during the brief level change. The children have been amazing and we were definitely impressed at how independent and brave they were.   Because of the level change we will be having our Ngā Puna get together as planned. We will be meeting at the school pool from 5.00 till 6.30. Bring along some dinner and PJ’s for the kids to get changed into after swimming.  Kia Ora Whanau A sincere thank you for your co-operation and support this morning with starting our school day under level 2 restrictions. We were super impressed with how the children managed coming into school on their own / with sibling support, unpacking their belongings and getting ready for their school day. We understand that this can feel daunting and is difficult to leave your child, however we can honestly say that the children were really brave, no tears and just got on with their day.  Have a chat to your child about the plan for the end of day, e.g, waiting by the waiting table for siblings, coming to the front gate with the teachers. Please feel free to email us or call the office during the day if you have any questions or anything we should know. You guys are doing great! Kia ora Whānau  Welcome to week 2 of our 11 week Term. We hope you all had a wonderful long weekend.  What a treat it was to listen to our children explain their holiday mementos this morning. We found lots of connections and 'themes' running through. We loved hearing the discussions taking place as children explained thinking about 'where' to place their hexagons and 'why' they could connect to others. Below are some photos of the work we did with our hexagon's. Hexagons are the 'puzzle pieces' which help us to frame up our thinking in a visual way when working with our learners. Oh the Places you'll go! - Term One - Social Studies. Our Social Studies learning this Term is about connecting with People, Places and Things. To help us connect with the things we've seen and the places we've been, we're asking you to bring a holiday memento to share after Waitangi weekend. Just bring it into Ngā Puna in the morning.  Below are some examples of items you could bring, but really it can be anything! Please note items will not be returned so if it's too precious please send a photo and we can print it off for you. We will create an artwork with the items afterwards in our Rivers.
