Week 8


  • Check the school bags - class and individual photos sent home today


  • All school library books will need to be back in by Friday 10th December. Please search the house and return everything that needs to come back to school.


  • Please return all reading books too that are hiding under beds and around the house.


  • We are having a tennis lesson on Friday morning this week. We are lucky that the Waimairi tennis club staff are coming to us and saving the young children a long walk. Tennis rackets are provided but if the kids want to bring their own they are very welcome. 


  • With two weeks to go, we are very excited about Christmas singing, reading Christmas stories, hearing about holidays, and also doing Christmas activities. All the best for the pre-Christmas rush and festivities!! Kids are welcomed to wear festive headware

  • Please bring togs to school each day just in case we get a swimming slot. The weather doesn't look great for the beginning of the week.


        Early 2 pm finish on Wednesday - this week 

  • School finishes this Wednesday at 2 pm (December 8th) for teachers to conduct their parent interviews.  If you are unable to collect your child from school at 2pm, supervision will be provided but you must tell us via email so the number of children remaining at school is known.  Thanks for your support with this. 

  • Wednesdays - Ez lunch orders - order online by 9am for delivery to your child's class

This Thursday the 9th of December - Children starting in school hall.
This Thursday we are having New Entrants who are turning 5 over the holiday period in for a visit. As we have done in previous years, our current Nga Puna lovelies will begin school in the hall where they will be participating in a rotation of different activities. No need to unpack first, Sue and Lynley will be waiting there for them.

  • No toys at school please
  • Tuesdays - No Kapa Haka this week
  • Bey blades day Wednesday & ezlunch orders delivered to school
  • Bike day THURSDAY and FRIDAY this week! What a treat! 
  • Thursday NE 2022 visitors - Current NE children fun morning in the hall
  • Thursday 16th December - Last day of school 12.30 finish

  Welcome to Ngā Puna - 'The Springs’ We (Tina Dower, Tania Stott and Lynley Cummack) are thrilled to be working together as the New Entrant teachers in Ngā Puna. Term 4 - Week 6

Kia Ora whanau. Welcome to week 6 of our 9 week Term. They certainly are flying by! A big thank you to our fabulous caretaker Darren who has our pool up and running. Soo lucky to have a school pool! Please send named togs and towels in a tog bag to school daily. We only go if the outside temperature is 16 degrees or above. Initially, we focus on safe entry and exit of the school pool, gaining water confidence, and moving in different ways through the water. Our official times are: Tania and Tina- Tuesday/Friday  Vanessa and Sue- Monday/Wednesday Even though these are official times the kids can bring their togs and towels each day just in case there is a free-swimming slot. Autumn Exploring - Our trip to St James Park

 What a wonderful time we had last Friday 'Spotting Autumn'. As always with school trips, the journey was as exciting as the destination! We travelled down the cycleway and found a most marvellous path to run down. We loved watching the children show each other Manaakitanga by encouraging and helping their friends up the steep bank. When we got to the park we enjoyed crunching through the leaves and finding conker seeds. The leaves were beautifully dry, perfect for rolling on! Here are some photos below of our trip.
