Term Two - Week Three

Welcome to week 3. How exciting was the hail this morning! A good reminder for us all to please start bringing jackets to school daily. Feel free to bring slippers to pop on inside after taking gumboots off also. Makes for a cozy time in class. 

Welcome to Eru who has joined us this week in Ngå Puna. So lovely to have you with us Eru. You're super smiley and happy to be with us.

Science class trip coming up!
Wednesday the 9th of June we are heading to the Botanical Gardens to participate in the Junior Park Explorers programme run by educators from the City Council. We will be leaving school at 9, returning by 1:30. Any associated contributions will be added to your activity levy. More details will be out soon. Parent helpers will be required. Look out for the note next week.

  • Friday 21st of May - cut off date for ordering any lucky book club orders
  • Library day - Mondays. Bring books back to issue more
  • Friday - bike day - teachers supervise biking during learning choices
  • Wednesday - Ez lunch orders - oder online by 9am for delivery on Wednesday http://www.ezlunch.co.nz/
  • 3rd of June - parent information evening. Claire Knight from Learning Matters will be holding a parent information afternoon on structured literacy from 3:15 -4 :15. Hear about our professional development and what we are doing in class. Childcare will be available.
  • 9th of June, Trip to the Botanical Gardens

Term 4 - Week 6

Kia Ora whanau. Welcome to week 6 of our 9 week Term. They certainly are flying by! A big thank you to our fabulous caretaker Darren who has our pool up and running. Soo lucky to have a school pool! Please send named togs and towels in a tog bag to school daily. We only go if the outside temperature is 16 degrees or above. Initially, we focus on safe entry and exit of the school pool, gaining water confidence, and moving in different ways through the water. Our official times are: Tania and Tina- Tuesday/Friday  Vanessa and Sue- Monday/Wednesday Even though these are official times the kids can bring their togs and towels each day just in case there is a free-swimming slot. Autumn Exploring - Our trip to St James Park

 What a wonderful time we had last Friday 'Spotting Autumn'. As always with school trips, the journey was as exciting as the destination! We travelled down the cycleway and found a most marvellous path to run down. We loved watching the children show each other Manaakitanga by encouraging and helping their friends up the steep bank. When we got to the park we enjoyed crunching through the leaves and finding conker seeds. The leaves were beautifully dry, perfect for rolling on! Here are some photos below of our trip.
