Term 4 - Week 1

 Kia Ora koutou.


What a lovely sunny day to have the kids back with us today. Everyone was so happy to be back, super settled. Was great to hear about what our we people have been up to over the holiday break. Feel free to share photos of your adventures if keen. Children love to see themselves on the big screen.

Reminders

  • Hats - We are a sun smart school and hats are compulsory fro terms 1 and 4. Please use this week to locate/purchase a school wide brimmed hat. We are encouraging children to leave them at school in their lockers (One less thing to remember to pack for home!) 
  • Welcome - A few new people to welcome this week. Welcome to Winter and Kylie who are starting school with us this week. Happy birthday girls! Lovely to have you with us. Also our University of Canterbury Student Teacher Sophie Lightbourne is here with us again for her 4 week placement. It was great seeing the kids reconnect with Sophie today. 
  • Monday 25th October - Labour Day - Public Holiday, School closed
  • Friday 12th November - Show weekend/ Canterbury Anniversary day - School closed
  •  Last day of the year - Thursday the 16th of December
  • Monday - Tina and Tania Library
  • Wednesday - Bey blade day                   
  • Wednesday -  Ez lunch orders delivered to school. Subway or Sushi - order online by 9am for   delivery on Wednesday http://www.ezlunch.co.nz/
  • Wednesday - Sue and Vanessa - library day

  Welcome to Ngā Puna - 'The Springs’ We (Tina Dower, Tania Stott and Lynley Cummack) are thrilled to be working together as the New Entrant teachers in Ngā Puna. We are looking forward to welcoming new families to our Waimairi community as well as re connecting with existing families as younger tamariki are beginning their school journey. Term 4 - Week 6

Kia Ora whanau. Welcome to week 6 of our 9 week Term. They certainly are flying by! A big thank you to our fabulous caretaker Darren who has our pool up and running. Soo lucky to have a school pool! Please send named togs and towels in a tog bag to school daily. We only go if the outside temperature is 16 degrees or above. Initially, we focus on safe entry and exit of the school pool, gaining water confidence, and moving in different ways through the water. Our official times are: Tania and Tina- Tuesday/Friday  Vanessa and Sue- Monday/Wednesday Even though these are official times the kids can bring their togs and towels each day just in case there is a free-swimming slot. The school pool will be open to use outside of school hours for families that purchase a pool key from this Friday 19th November.   A big thank you to Darren who has been working hard to get the pool and surrounding areas up and running in preparation for this! Autumn Exploring - Our trip to St James Park

 What a wonderful time we had last Friday 'Spotting Autumn'. As always with school trips, the journey was as exciting as the destination! We travelled down the cycleway and found a most marvellous path to run down. We loved watching the children show each other Manaakitanga by encouraging and helping their friends up the steep bank. When we got to the park we enjoyed crunching through the leaves and finding conker seeds. The leaves were beautifully dry, perfect for rolling on! Here are some photos below of our trip.
