Ngā Puna 2021

 Kia Ora families. Welcome to week 2 of our 10 week Term. We had a lovely first week back connecting with our tamariki. The children were super settled. So nice to see new friendships forming as we welcome our new children into our Ngå Puna whanau. Walk to St James Park - This Friday the 14th. As part of our science learning we will be going to St James Park for the afternoon. We will be looking closely at the changes we see in the environment around us as Autumn is here. The children this term have been learning about consonants and vowels. They are learning what the difference is between them and how where they are placed in a word affects the sounds they make. Your children will have a few follow up activities throughout the week which will be popped into their k.I.T books. If you are finding they are too tired or not interested after school it is MORE Than O.K. to leave it. They have been working so hard all day :)  The consonant at the end of the word makes the vowel say ...

 Kia Ora whanau. What an exciting start to the term we have had today! As part of our Term Two ignition for our Science learning, Waimairi School had a hot air balloon on the back field! We were thinking like a scientist and used our senses to observe what we could see, hear, and feel.  Check out the photos below! A big welcome today also to our new students joining us in Nga Puna.  Kia ora whanau, Well, it's finally here, week 11 the last week of term one. We have had an amazing first term of 2021. Thanks to you for all your support and for trusting us to look after your precious children. We love to watch the children grow and learn whether it is learning letters and sounds or learning how to ask for help when needed it's all-important learning and development. Five year olds have such busy brains and they work super hard at school and we are very proud of them. They (and you) deserve a lovely break. We have a Staff only day on Friday so there will be no supervision for the children.
