Term 4- Week 4
Welcome to Elijah who starts school today. We are so pleased that you have joined us here at Waimairi school. Happy Birthday to you!
Short week - Enjoy an extra day off for Show Day on Friday
Connect Waimairi are putting on a sausage sizzle for the kids Thursday lunchtime to say thank you to the kids for hanging in there.
Mikaela and Jordan from Sport Canterbury are coming again this Wednesday morning to take the children for small games and skill-based activities. The children are loving it!!
Wednesday-Bey Blade Day, lunch orders, Monday Tania and Tina's ora groups have Library and Vanessa and Sue are on Wednesday.
We still have some children without hats. if the children take their hats home please make sure that they are returned each day. The duty teachers will be checking and the children without hats will be asked to play in the shade.
No toys at school. We are finding that children are bringing too many toys and these are beginning to be disruptive and are also getting lost and broken which is upsetting for the children. If we see toys at school we will be taking them away and giving them back at the end of the day.
The pump track is finished and ready to go. This week the children can bring their bikes on Thursday before the long weekend. We will take them for a turn on the pump track!!
This week we say farewell to Sophie Lightbourne, our student teacher from the University of Canterbury. It has been wonderful having Sophie with us. I know the children have enjoyed interacting with her also. We wish you luck Sophie as you continue on your teaching journey.
Happy Diwali!
Last week we celebrated the beginning of Diwali, the festival of light celebrating the Indian New year. We had so much fun making lanterns and rangoli patterns with chalk. We loved hearing about the connections throughout Nga Puna and our lovely Maryanne recently shared with us photos and memories of her whanau celebrating.
Below are a few photos taken over the week.
Have a lovely week all!
